Learn more about Halsey Hall

Spacious studios with soulful dance floors, high ceilings, and abundant natural light provide an inspiring and professional dance space. Halsey Hall is the finest dance facility in the state of Iowa, named after Elizabeth Halsey, chair of the University of Iowa Department of Physical Education for Women from 1924 to 1955. Halsey was a pioneer in establishing sport for women at the collegiate level.

Our facilities also include traditional classrooms, a computer lab, a dance student lounge, a state-of-the-art sound/music production facility, a dedicated performance stage and auditorium, faculty and staff offices, graduate student offices, and an array of other performance venues available on and off campus.
