Learn by doing. Learn by dancing.
Experiential learning is "learning by doing" and by reflecting on your experience. In Iowa Dance, experiential learning activities include performances, the Arts Living-Learning Community, conducting research with a professor, teaching dance, and internships, among other possibilities.
Performance opportunities
As a dance major, you'll have many opportunities to perform and choreograph, including:
- UI Dance Company (our touring company)
- The annual Dance Gala on the Hancher stage
- Faculty and student concerts in Space Place Theater
- MFA thesis concerts
- The School of Music Opera Theatre
- Musical theatre
- Community performances
- Participation in Gala Festival Concerts of the American College Dance Festival Association
